Mykonos meets Olympia: the games opening ceremony in (Dsquared2) style

The Greeks having carried the torch of flaming homosexuality for centuries in the ancient world, no wonder Dean and Dan had to be involved in the Olympics. Not as competitors, but as designers. Mykonos meets Olympia.

Their participation in the world sports event is not new, as they had been torch bearers in 2010, as well as having designed the opening and closing ceremony outfits for the Canadian team in Vancouver that year.

This year in Rio, the opening ceremony’s clothes were also imagined by the Caten twins. We discussed in a previous post that you can read here:  Dsquared2 x HBC that Select individual pieces could be purchased at a very reasonable price. However we since discovered that the company only ships to Canada!

So here is a picture of the Canadian team.

Kind of an improvement over the Calgary 1988 outfit…

So go Team Canada, may the spirit of Dsquared2 bring you luck!
