In search of a unicorn: the Dsquared2 double breasted leather blazer

At the end of the women’s AW15-16 show, the Catenacci brothers wore a superb ensemble: black boots, ripped blue jeans, white shirt, red sash and an amazing double-breasted leather jacket.

The sash is not new at Dsquared, it was already worn by models at the  AW 06-07 show. Normally worn either as a military decoration, a symbol of political authority or as sign of membership of some honorific order, it is usually worn with a formal outfit, civil or military. Very interesting to see it worn with casual wear here. As often, only Dean and Dan could have come up with that!

What is killing me though, is this mind-blowing jacket. I immediately fell in love with it and was counting the days for the new collection to come out…only to realise that it was not part of it.

The jacket looks to me as a “Napoli” cut double-breasted suit jacket, just in leather instead of wool. Was it part of an earlier collection and it went under my radar? If anyone has any information about this unicorn please let me know, I will pay handsomely!
